earth from space lit from the sun in the background

Today we breathe new life into this land.

Today we breathe life into the unmarked graves on which we stand.

We honor them in the only way we know how -

Every stomp of the boot,

Every sway of the hip,

Every clap of the hand.

We hold on to our ancestral dance partners,

And give them freedom they never knew in their life time.

Tomorrow we breathe new life into this land.

Tomorrow we offer it back to its original people.

We honor their Ancestors in death in a way they never were in life -

Remembering we have worked on stolen land.

And when the Earth breathes anew -

When the monuments are gone,

And Nature has taken her bounty -

The bones of the Ancestors may finally breathe new life too.
